Here is the Class of 08. All in. Anyone that represented the state of Hip Hop in the latter half of the 1st decade of the 21st century was on stage at last nights Grammy’s. I’m not a fan of all of them and surprised that I actually am fans of some of these artist. Although an album may have violated every natural god given use for auto-tune I still recognize an artist right to force it upon the populous.
What is of note, is how far women have come in Hip Hop. At one point they were relegated to backing up their male counter parts, Singing about their male counter parts, stashing their guns or hiding their sexual proclivities. M.I.A. blew the doors off of all preconceived notions of female rappers should look like or rap about.

New band wagon is electro/house/rock stars are now scoring ( and winning oscars, congratulations Trent) movies. Big movies.
Critically acclaimed electronic duo The Chemical Brothers have teamed up with film director Joe Wright to score Wright’s boldly original adventure thriller Hanna, which stars Academy Award nominee Saoirse Ronan, Eric Bana, and Academy Award winner Cate Blanchett. The soundtrack will be released exclusively through iTunes on March 15th, in advance of the film’s April 8th nationwide theatrical release through Focus Features.
The soundtrack will be available on Back Lot Music, Universal Studios’ in-house soundtrack record label. The Brothers are at opening night of the Coachella Music and Arts Festival on April 15th. The Hanna soundtrack is their first release since Further, which was released in 2010.
