I’m getting back to writting stuff and I am have made a resolution only to post on things I find interesting regardless of timeliness.
So up first-
TV ON THE RADIO cover Bowie’s “Heroes”.
This is to be on the up coming release War Child’s Heroes. Which is a benefit album for something I don’t completely underdstand. The LP also yielded a Lily Allen cover of the Clash’s “Straight To Hell” , Which I found to be a bastardization regardless of Ms. Allen being the god daughter of one of the guys in the clash.
Also Up:
I AM REALLY LOOKING forward to this N.A.S.A lp “The Spirit Of Apollo” dropping on Feburary 17th. These guys have a Ronsonesque rolodex with guest from KRS-ONE, Fat Lip, Chuck D, Santogold,M.I.A, Tom Waits and on and on so it’s bound to be interesting at the least. Even if it results in a trainwreck, INTERESTING.

Hip Hop Class Of ‘08
Here is the Class of 08. All in. Anyone that represented the state of Hip Hop in the latter half of the 1st decade of the 21st century was on stage at last nights Grammy’s. I’m not a fan of all of them and surprised that I actually am fans of some of these artist. Although an album may have violated every natural god given use for auto-tune I still recognize an artist right to force it upon the populous.
What is of note, is how far women have come in Hip Hop. At one point they were relegated to backing up their male counter parts, Singing about their male counter parts, stashing their guns or hiding their sexual proclivities. M.I.A. blew the doors off of all preconceived notions of female rappers should look like or rap about.
Good luck pushin out that baby Maya.
