Duffy Promo
Duffy’s sound is very nostalgic and retro. I’m not going to lie…she does
sound a bit like Amy Winehouse, but that isn’t such a bad thing. I mean
musicians bite off each others styles all the time, right?

The first track “Mercy” is a good start to Duffy’s EP “Rockferry”. Its yet
another “men haven’t treated me right” sort of song but Duffy’s strong
vocals kept my attention. It has a modern soulful appeal, which is hard to
resist. The track Rockferry was a bit difficult for me to get through
because I’m not really into escalating slow to fast melodies but her
powerful vocals still follow through. The tracks “Warwick Avenue” and
“Serious” are a bit more upbeat and catchier.

This is definitely a EP to listen to while lamenting over an ex boyfriend or
girlfriend. I’m pretty sure that somebody smited Duffy while she was
writing songs for this album. Duffy ultimately made some kick ass break-up
music! Her influential lyrics and sultry voice certainly connects with
listeners and grabs their attention. If you like Amy Winehouse….you will
like this.
