N.A.S.A. “Gifted” Video

Hip Hop Class Of ‘08

Here is the Class of 08. All in. Anyone that represented the state of Hip Hop in the latter half of the 1st decade of the 21st century was on stage at last nights Grammy’s. I’m not a fan of all of them and surprised that I actually am fans of some of these artist. Although an album may have violated every natural god given use for auto-tune I still recognize an artist right to force it upon the populous.

What is of note, is how far women have come in Hip Hop. At one point they were relegated to backing up their male counter parts, Singing about their male counter parts, stashing their guns or hiding their sexual proclivities. M.I.A. blew the doors off of all preconceived notions of female rappers should look like or rap about.

Good luck pushin out that baby Maya.

Kanye West: Glow In The Dark Tour Dates : Update

Kanye did not win a Grammy for Album of the year. The Broadcast show him when they announced the nominees ( with his head in his hands ) but did not go back to him after they announced Herbie Hancock’s name. I am sure we missed a classic Faith Hill type of reaction shot. He surely will be cranky about this. Go see his tour and cheer him up:

Dates after the jump.

Kanye West’s Surprise Performance At Flavorpill Event

Tonight at Flavorpill’s (final?) One Step Beyond event at the Natural History Museum featuring The Cool Kids, Kid Sister and A-trak. A cool enough bill for your average freshman Pratt student hipster, and there were plenty. Flavorpill employee of the week Asher Rapkin stepped up his game when he brought up Kanye West during Kid Sister’s floor filler “Pro Nails”. West and Kid Sis finished the set together but then Kanye killed it with 4 or 5 of his own hits. “Stronger”, and “Good Life” literally had the skinny pants screaming from the ceiling.

How I ask you did Mr. Rapkin and his team pull this off with a budget of $127, a 1/2 case of bud light and an iphone? Please someone tell me!
